- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 package chocolate kisses
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
- 1 cup candy corn (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a large bowl and stir in sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Slowly fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Scoop about 1½ tablespoons of dough onto baking sheet, spacing them out.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes.
- Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie after baking.
- Let cookies cool completely.
- Pipe a ring of chocolate frosting around each kiss to create a witch hat base.
- Decorate with candy corn or sprinkles if desired.
Notes
Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days. To make ahead, freeze undecorated cookies for up to 2 months and decorate after thawing.
